Buying older versions of Live

Ableton sells licenses for the current version of Live only. Previous versions are not available for purchase directly from Ableton. If you need a previous version for compatibility with an older operating system or computer, you can purchase a secondhand license from a third party.

Accessing previous versions you own

If you already own a license for a previous version of Live, you can download the installer from the Download Archive in your Ableton account. You will need the corresponding serial number to authorize the older version.

Note: A newer Live license can be used to authorize the previous major version via online authorization. This feature is not available for offline authorization, rent-to-own licenses, or Education Access Seat licenses.
