Error: Setup Failed "0x80070666 Another Version of this product is already installed."

On Windows computers, if Ableton Live fails to install with the error message "0x80070666 - Another version of this product is already installed" your computer may be experiencing an issue with the Micrsoft C++ Redistributable. 

To troubleshoot this issue, please try one of the two following methods:

Method 1:

1) Navigate to Add or Remove Programs in the Windows Start Menu 

2) Locate the Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2019 Redistributable (x64) - 14.27.29016 Pack. If it seems as if there are 2 packs with the same name, click the pack to reveal the full name, as Microsoft may concatenate the names which can make it appear like there are duplicates. 

3) Click Modify, and in the dialog that appears, click "Repair".

4) Launch Ableton Live 11 to test if the error is resolved

Method 2:

Reinstall the VC_redist.x64.exe file manually, which might potentially ask you to repair the installation. You can directly download the file here 

Please note that this error can also occur when the Live installer is not run from the system disk. If the above steps don't resolve this error:

• Ensure the Live Installer is being run from the system disk, e.g. from the Desktop.
• Check that the Installer files have been fully unpacked and extracted exactly as described in the Installing Live article.
