Packs installation could not be completed

If the Ableton Pack version you're trying to install is more recent than your Live version, the installation may fail with one of the error messages listed below. To resolve this, only install Live Packs compatible with your Live version, and keep Live up to date. Error messages may include:

  • The installation could not be completed
  • Failed reading Pack File (This pack is corrupt...)
  • Failed reading Pack file (Live 12.[x] or later is required to install the Pack...)

Incompatible Live major version

These errors can occur if you attempt to install a Pack version that's later than your Live version, for example, if you try to install a Live 11 Pack in Live 10.

Incompatible Live minor version

These error messages may also occur after some Live updates if the minor version is not backwards compatible. For example, if you try to install Live 11.1-only packs—such as Convolution Reverb, Flexgroove, or Dub Machines—while using Live 11.0, an error message may result. To resolve this, update Live to the latest version from your Ableton account
