Installing Multiple Versions of Live
You can install more than one major version of Ableton Live on your computer. For example, if you have Ableton Live 11 installed, you can then install Live 12, and continue using each version. Running multiple versions at the same time is not recommended.
We recommend you always install available free updates to your Live version, as these deliver important improvements and bug fixes.
Note: Technical support is available for the current major release version of Live and the version immediately prior. We cannot offer troubleshooting or support for legacy versions.

Minor versions
It's also possible to have several minor versions of Ableton Live installed, such as the current release version plus previous releases. For example, you can manually install Live 11.3.3 without overwriting Live 11.1.6, and continue working in either version.

- To install another version of Live in addition to the installed version, click "Install other."
- You can then edit the name of the new installation, for example by adding the version number, e.g. 11.3.21.
- Or, you can choose to Replace your previous Live installation.

When installing older versions of Live, it may not be possible to authorize Live online. In this case, follow the steps in this guide to authorize Live offline.
Preventing automatic updates
If you install an earlier version of Live and want to continue working in that version, you may want to disable automatic updates to prevent it from being updated. Go to Live's Preferences → Licenses/Maintenance or Licenses & Upgrades.
