Erratic mouse behavior on Windows

  • Live Versions: All
  • Operating System: Win 8, Win 10

If the mouse moves unpredictably when controlling parameters in Live, or if the mouse pointer disappears completely:

Pen Tablet Mode

Activate Pen Tablet Mode in Live's Preferences. Pen Tablet Mode allows graphic tablets to control Live’s UI and can resolve issues with erratic mouse behaviour.

Note: In Live 9, Pen Tablet Mode does not exist. Instead enable 'Absolute Mouse Mode' using an Options.txt file.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to adjust the Windows desktop zoom.

Desktop Zoom

In Control Panel → Appearance → Display, select a zoom level of 100% or 125%.

Windows 8 Scaling Level

For Windows 8.1 users there is an additional option to apply one scaling level for all connected displays. Make sure this is checked:
