In order to solve this problem, delete the Preferences.cfg file for the version you are trying to run, and then restart Live. You will find this file in the following paths:

Windows

C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live x.x.x\Preferences\

Mac

Macintosh HD:/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/
