Recommended Graphics Settings (Windows)
For optimal performance in Ableton Live on Windows, we recommend graphics settings as close to the default as possible, with options set to be managed by the application. It is important to keep your graphics drivers up to date. Available settings may vary depending on your hardware and drivers, but in general, avoid custom configurations that override Live’s control of graphics performance.

Live’s GPU Renderer option (Live 12.2)
As of Live 12.2, a hardware-accelerated GPU renderer can be enabled on Windows computers to improve Live’s UI performance. To enable this option, go to Live’s Settings → Display & Input.
Plug-in scaling
To avoid plug-in GUI scaling issues, follow these guidelines:
Windows display scaling
Set Windows display scaling to 100% or a whole multiple of 50, such as 150%, 200%, etc. Do not use an uneven custom scaling setting such as 101%.
- To check display scaling settings for the Live application, locate the Live.exe file or shortcut and right-click to open the Compatibility tab.
- Set this to allow the scaling of Live to be determined by the application, and not overridden by a custom setting. Make sure Override high DPI scaling is unchecked, as pictured:
Auto-Scale Plugin Window
Auto-Scale Plugin Window is enabled by default in Live, and should not be disabled, with only one exception: for VST3 devices whose UI is freely scalable, you can disable autoscaling for a sharply rendered UI.
For all other devices, leave Auto-Scale Plugin Window in the default, enabled state. To view this setting, right-click on the plug-in icon in Live’s Browser.
