MP3 file warp markers change between 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Live
- Live Versions: All
- Operating System: All
When opening Live Sets containing MP3 files in the 64-bit version of Live that were originally made in a 32-bit version of Live, the warp markers might be missing or changed, even though the matching .asd files are copied along with the MP3s correctly. This is because the 32-bit version of Live uses a different decoding algorithm.
The 32-bit version of Live usually uses Quicktime to decode MP3s. Quicktime is not supported on later versions of macOS and Windows 10.
If your operating system still supports Quicktime, then you can try this workaround:
- Install Quicktime
- Open Live
- In Live´s File / Folder preferences, click “Cleanup” to empty the decoding cache
- Open the set again
If your OS doesn't support Quicktime any more, you'll need to re-warp those files.
