How to save Live sets into unique project folders
- Live Versions: All
- Operating System: All
Each Live Project Folder is optimized to store roughly one song's worth of data, and saving multiple Live Sets (.als files) into a single Project folder can be a convenient way to store variations to that song.
However, saving different songs into a single Project Folder can sometimes bloat the folder's contents to a point where Live's performance slows dramatically. To reduce this strain (and the risk of mismanaging these collected files), we highly recommend saving these Live Sets into Project Folders of their own.
When starting a set for the first time, you should save this to a unique location, outside of an existing Live project folder. This will create a unique project folder, which is easiest to manage.
If you've saved multiple sets into one project folder, here's how to separate them:
How to separate existing Live sets into unique project folders
- Open the Live Set.
File → Save a Copy...[Select a neutral location, outside an existing Live Project; This will create a new Project folder].
File → Collect All and Save[Be sure to enable all options in the dialogue window that appears].
- Open the next Live Set in the original Project folder, and repeat steps 2 and 3.
Once you are done, you can safely delete the original Project folder.
