Arrangement zooming and navigation improvements in Live 10.1

  • Live Versions: 10.1 and higher

It's easier than ever to zoom and navigate in Live 10.1.

Note: To use any keyboard shortcuts in Live, the Computer MIDI keyboard must be switched off.

Pinch to Zoom

Arrangement zoom

  • Use a pinch gesture on a supported trackpad/touchscreen (see below) to zoom the Arrangement.

Track Height

  • Use a pinch gesture while pressing Option (Mac)/ Alt (Windows) to change the track height on any currently selected track(s).

MIDI clip editor zoom

  • Use a pinch gesture within the MIDI clip editor to zoom horizontally.
  • Use a pinch gesture within the MIDI clip editor while pressing Option (Mac)/ Alt (Windows) to zoom vertically.

Mac

Currently supported hardware:

  • Pinch zooming works in smooth steps on all Mac trackpads (both built-in and external trackpads)

Windows

Currently supported hardware:

  • Pinch zooming works in smooth steps on Windows touchscreens like the Surface Book Pro.
  • Pinch zooming works on Windows machines that have “Precision Touchpads”. However, Pinch Zooming on Windows precision touchpads only works in discrete steps (like the plus and minus keys for example) instead of smooth steps like on a Mac. This is an operating system limitation due to the fact that Windows interprets these touch events in set intervals.

Note: Pinch zooming on other Windows trackpad types is not supported.

Arrangement overview improvements

  • The Arrangement Overview is now resizable
  • In Session View the Overview is visually aligned and the whole Arrangement is represented.

Clip detail improvements

  • The visualization of Arrangement clips has been improved with adjusted clip borders and refinements to the way items are colored.
  • The representation of MIDI clips in Arrangement is improved, in that when only a few notes exist, they are in larger size.
