"The Max installation appears to be broken" (Mac)

This error may appear when loading any Max for Live device in Live.

Usually this happens if Live has been launched from the installer .dmg rather than from the Applications folder.

  1. Close Live.
  2. Make sure that Live has been installed the Applications folder in Finder.
  3. Unmount the installer (click the eject button in Finder).
  4. Launch Live from the Applications list.
  5. Load any Max for Live device.
  6. In case the error still appears, close Live and reset Max for Live.
