Link Audio
As of Live 12.4, Link Audio enables real-time audio streaming between Link peers in a shared session, via a wired LAN connection or Wi-Fi. When Link Audio is enabled, tracks with audio output can be received by other connected peers on the same network.
- Live and Push can send and receive via Link Audio.
- Move and Note can only send via Link Audio.
- Sync to Incoming Audio enables monitoring of incoming audio, recommended for only one designated peer in the session.
Learn more in the Link Audio FAQ.
Learn View
A new Learn View, accessible from Live’s Help menu, replaces Live’s existing Help View and associated lessons. Learn View provides structured learning modules that combine video content with written explanations, covering Live's interface and key features step by step.
- You can filter lessons by topic and mark them as completed to track your progress.
- Videos can be watched in a Picture-in-Picture window so you can close the Learn View panel and follow along in your Set.
- Lessons for installed Packs remain accessible via Help → Pack Overview, or from Live’s Browser by right-clicking an installed Pack and selecting Show Pack Info.
Note: Additional Learn View modules will continue to be added and released independently.
Device Updates
Live 12.4 introduces updates and improvements to Live devices including:
- Erosion
- Chorus-Ensemble
- Delay
- Wavetable
- Drum Sampler
As of Live 12.4, Live devices can be renamed while folded. Renaming automatically unfolds the device so the editable title is visible.

Stem Separation
As of Live 12.4, when separating a clip into stems, only the audible portion of the file is processed, which reduces processing time. In Arrangement View, it's possible to separate only a selected portion of a clip, rather than the entire audio file.
The option Merge to single track lets you merge selected stems into a single new audio track. This is useful for removing specific stems — for example, separating out vocals and merging the remaining stems into one track. The checkbox is unavailable when only one or all four stems are selected.

Quick Tags in Live’s Browser
As of Live 12.4, new tags, parent tags, or tag groups can be created directly from Quick Tags. Start typing a tag name in Quick Tags — if the tag doesn't already exist, you'll see an option to create it. Press Enter or click Create new tag… to confirm, then type to select or create a group or parent tag for it.
Other Improvements
- Copy Time command in Arrangement view, with shortcut Ctrl+Shift+C (Windows) / Cmd+Shift+C (macOS).
- Expanded draggable resize area at the start and end of MIDI notes makes it easier to resize very short notes.
- Solo can be toggled with the S key for selected chains in Session View. If a track is selected, S toggles solo for the track.
- Max for Live Developer Mode in Live’s Options menu makes it easier to enable the Edit button in Max for Live devices.
- Live checks for available Splice updates at startup.
- New racks and presets in Live’s Core Library.
- Control Surface support for the Akai MPK mini IV.
- On Launchkey Mini MK4, Launchkey MK4, and Move, you can adjust step duration in the step sequencer by holding a step and pressing an adjacent step.
