Push 1 Live freezes when Push is disconnected (Win)
- Live Versions: All
- Operating System: Win
When you disconnect or turn off Push while Live is updating the LCD-screen on a Windows computer, the application will become unresponsive.
When this takes place, it will not be possible to terminate the process, even using Windows' Task Manager.
This happens because of a bug in the generic Windows Midi-Driver, and it applies to Windows XP, Vista and 7, but not to Windows 8, 10 or any Mac OS X version.
To fix this:
- Use the power adapter whenever possible.
- Ensure Push is connected directly to your computer (not via a USB hub).
- Avoid powering off Push (intentionally or accidentally) when moving an encoder, pressing a button, or doing anything that will cause the LCD display to be updated.
In case Live freezes, you will need to stop the program via the Task Manager and wait for at least 5 minutes before restarting it.
