Recording my guitar/turntable/microphone with Live
- Live Versions: 1 - 9
- Operating System: All
If you want to record an audio signal from a guitar, a turntable or a microphone, you will need to amplify the signal before sending it Live. These devices do not operate at line level and so you need to boost the level of these devices to a suitable level in order to properly record them.
Some audio interface come with a built-in mic preamp which makes it easy to increase the recording level. Check the manual of your device or the product page on the website of the manufacturer to find out if your interface supports this. Otherwise, you will need to use an external preamp and route the audio signal from there into the interface or your soundcard.
