Apps for controlling Live with an iOS or Android device

There are a number of applications which can control Live with an iPad, iPhone, iPod touch or Android device. Please note that the current versions of Live do not support multi-touch gestures in Windows 8 or any other touch-optimized operating system.

touchAble (iOS)

touchAble is full-featured controller app for Live which offers dedicated views and controls for Live's Session View, MIDI Note Editor, Mixer, Devices, Browser, and more.

LK (iOS & Android)

LK the successor of LIVKONTROL by Imaginando features a Clip Launcher, control over track parameters, a Clip Composer, MIDI Pads and mappable MIDI sliders.

TouchOSC and Osculator (iOS & Android)

Touch OSC offers a level of customization which requires an intermediate-advanced knowledge of both the software and MIDI/OSC (Open Sound Control) protocols, however for those who are up to the challenge, creating custom virtual controllers can be a very rewarding project.

TouchOSC transmits its messages to Live via a program called Osculator.

TouchOSC is available for iOS devices as well as for Android devices.

TouchDAW (Android)

TouchDAW is a full-featured DAW control and general purpose MIDI control app for Android™ tablets and phones.

Besides control surface emulation, the app brings a number of general purpose MIDI controllers, such as a multitouch keyboard, multitouch launchpads, a MIDI mixer, configureable xy-controller pads and the possibility to link a phone's sensors to MIDI controllers.

DAW Control (iOS)

DAW Control is a wireless DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) software controller, especially optimized for Apple Logic® and Ableton Live®. DAW Control is compatible with both MAC and Windows.
