Installing Packs using the Live Browser
All available Packs for your license (and any previously purchased Packs) can be downloaded and installed directly from Live's Browser, by selecting the Packs label.
Note: If you authorized Live offline, Packs updates and downloads from the Browser are disabled. They can be installed manually following the steps below.
How to install and update Packs from Live's Browser:
- Under Places, click on Packs.
- Scroll down to the list of Available Packs and unfold the list.
- Locate the Pack you want to install, then click the download icon (downward arrow).
- You'll see download's progress. Once this is complete, you'll see an "Install" button.
- Click Install and wait for the installation to finish.
- Once installed, Packs appear in Live's Browser in the Packs label. Any available lessons open in Live's Help view, on the right side of Live's window.
Installing Packs using a downloaded .alp file
- From the Ableton Packs website, open the Pack's detailed description page and click "Download." Or, download the Pack directly from your User Account.
- Live Packs files have the file extension .alp. After downloading, you can double click on the .alp file to open it, or drag and drop the file anywhere in Live to install the Pack.
- Once installed, Packs will appear under Places in Live's Browser, in the Packs label.
- After a Pack has been installed in Live, you can delete the downloaded .alp file.
