Push 2 crashes Live when connected (Win)

  • Live Versions: Live 9.5 and later
  • Operating System: Windows 7, 8 and 10

Problem:

Push 2 crashes Live as soon it is connected and powered on while Live is running. Windows may display the error "A Serious Program Error Has Occurred".

Reason:

Certain outdated ReWire DLLs can conflict with Push 2.

Solution:

  • Disconnect Push 2
  • Close Live if it's running
  • Delete the contents of these folders:

C:/Program Files/Common Files/Propellerheads Software/ReWire
C:/Program Files(x86)/Common Files/Propellerheads Software/ReWire

  • Then launch Live, connect Push 2 and power it on

Please note that some programs will re-install the Rewire DLLs every time they are opened. If you do use those programs on a regular basis but do not need to use ReWire, then you can turn off ReWire functionality completely using these Options:

-ReWireMasterOff
-ReWireSlaveOff

Here are instructions on how to add an Options.txt file to Live.
