How to create a headphone mix for Push 3 and configure the metronome for monitoring

By configuring Push 3's headphone output and audio settings, you can create a separate headphone monitoring mix with a click, without affecting the main speaker output, following the steps below.

  1. In Audio settings, Push Headphone and Line Outputs are both assigned to channels 1/2 by default. To assign different sources to your headphone outputs, go to the Outputs column and select a different stereo channel for the headphone output, such as channels 3/4.

  2. In the Mixer view, press the Master Track button:

  3. Set Cue Out to channels 3/4. Ensure Master Out is going to channels 1/2 (which is the default).
Now, the metronome click signal on Cue Out (channels 3/4) is sent to the Headphone output only, and the Master Out (channels 1/2) is sent to the Line output.
  4. To send other track signals to the headphone mix, press the + (Add) button and create a Return track.

  5. Press the Mix button to access the Return Track's Output settings. Set the Output Type to Ext. Out and the Output Channel to channels 3/4. This Return Track can now route any incoming signals from MIDI/Audio tracks to the Headphone output.
